You're confused. The Mac Pro has *never* had an SD card slot. The newer Mac Pro has no DVD drive either. Both have dual Ethernet ports though. > TRhe only dongle needed was the USB to serial port when needing to > connect to routers are very low level. Wrong. Dongles are also needed to connect to various displays and projectors, and other older devices. > It wasn't a case of needing it often, but when you needed it, you > needed it. And those who need it have the appropriate adapters. I know because I'm one of them. You don't see me here bitching about it though, because I've been around long enough to know this is nothing new. : ) > Ethernet is a must for network engineers to connect directly into > network equipment. And I think we can all agree network engineers aren't representative of all professional users, anyway. > You keep talking about "photographers" LOL! *I* am not the one who keeps talking about photographers - that would be Alan. : ) > but they are not the only type of "pro" users. Neither are network engineers. News flash: there are *many* types of professional users, all with their own needs and desires. Apple's goal is to meet the base needs of most people, and the sales numbers show they do just that. > The Pro catered to a large variety of Pros. Still does. > Now it is aimed at Starbucks hipsters who don't need any ports when > spending days sippiong coffee and tweeting. Oh fuck off with that bullshit. I'm not a "hipster"; I'm a professional in the hardware and software technology field, and the MacBook Pro is a great machine for me. There are *many* others like me.
