Large portions of macOS aren't proprietary at all; other parts are. It's
been this way from the start, and you can bet it will always be this
way. And this is the case for most mainstream desktop operating systems.
The real question is: Why does this bother you so much you feel the need
to troll about it here in the Apple newsgroups? Just bored?
