Wrong again. The message appears on the iPad, then seconds later on the
phone. I get messages in similar scenarios all the time. All of the devices
display the message - it's just the device you are using gets it *first*.

Wrong again. Typically it's a matter of seconds - especially if you are
actively using the phone.

Having a bunch of devices beep every time I receive a message would be
extremely annoying.

And *still* neither of you can answer the question: How exactly would it
benefit me for my phone that is asleep in the bedroom to display a message
*before* displaying it on the iPad I am actually *using* when I am in the
living room?
