Doubtful. You have a history of doing things that are ill-advised with
your Macs here in these news groups.

And I have little doubt you are leaving out a whole lot of stuff you did
other than just that.

You haven't shown that Activity Monitor's unresponsiveness is in any way
related to memory compression. And with your apparent unwillingness to
read documentation, I'm willing to bet you haven't even looked at the
system and console logs to determine if there are any messages stating
what Activity Monitor's problem is.
