Not so good for the vast majority of consumer users. And think about this. If those parts warranties were so much better, why do most companies, large and small, not buy parts and have them built, or contract with some company to do just that? They usually either have an IT department or a servicer available. But yet they don't for the most part. > Often what you'll find is that for a modestly knowledgeable person > capable of walking into any DIY type shop you'll get a much better deal, > better service, much faster service and your warranty will outpace > virtually every vendor in the business. > The deal may or may not be better, it is a very mixed bag. And if that shop is doing assembly and selling similarly equipped stuff it will most often be higher in cost. That assumes of course, that they have figured out how to stay in business at all. Those small shops are getting fewer and smaller seemingly every day unfortunately. > And yes, the fan is covered, though I wouldn't care that much as the fan > typically costs so little that I can easily buy a better one, again with > a warranty, for very little money. > >> Apple's warranty is for one year; you can pay for an extra 2 years >> (AppleCare) which is definitely worth it. > > I have been buying and servicing Apple products for decades.
