He didn't have to say anything about an iPhone. He wants to send a text message to a non-Apple phone. To do that, he will have to use SMS rather than iMessage, because iMessage isn't supported on non-Apple phones. If he wants to send SMS messages from his computer, he has two options: 1. Use the text message forwarding feature already mentioned. 2. Send an email message to the SMS gateway for the recipient's cellular provider: -- E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my ravenous SPAM filter. I often ignore posts from Google. Use a real news client instead. JR
