It was the immovable object and the irresistible force meeting. Plenty of blame on both sides, IMO. But Apple have paid the higher price by striking out alone. They can afford it. Nobody on Android is using Apple Maps. I certainly don't use it all that much. And outside the US and some other cities, if one wants to know what bus to take, Apple Maps is useless.
