It's all over the usual rumor / news websites: MacRumors, AppleInsider,

Nope. There were rumors by fools who don't know how Apple releases
their new models. The expectations of people with brains was that this
would almost certainly be laptops only, with iMacs possibly next month,
but ...

The rumours for the new iMac have very few changes. About the only
thing that really changes is AMD graphics in some models and possibly a
slight speed-bump. If a speed-bumped iMac does get released before
Christmas, there will likely be a proper new model released in about
April / May next year.

Main explanation is that Apple simply doesn't (usually) release
multiple different models at the same time. They usually separate
desktop, laptop, and iOS device releases, and software separate again
with the WWDC returning to a software event. This is done for various
logistical reasons (not the least of which is avoiding having huge
piles of different new models arriving on store doorsteps at the same
time)
