It's a pity that a database company is not able to provide a bug tracking database where to find what does work where - but that's more specific for open source apps than for commercial tools I'd welcome an open (FMP) database in the net where people could enter theire more or less anecdotal evidence to form a more conclusive image what does work or not > In most cases, they do not test earlier versions, so the only > information you have to go on is anecdotal reports as to whether an > older version works on a later system (and that may depend on exactly > which features each person is using). As for most companies, they just want to sell their latest software. Backwards tests just cost time and money while it will not provide new customers. However, with the latest speed of Apple to provide new and updated MacOS versions, I do hesitate more and more to change the system, risking that essential programs will no longer work I sticked to 10.4, to 10.6 for a rather long time - not to speak of MacOS7, while I skipped MacOS 8, 9, 10.0, 10.1, 10.2 > > which claims that FMP 10 and FMP 11 are not compatible with MacOS 10.9 > > The table says that, but the text at the top explains it more clearly > (and still got it wrong): yes, does not make me very comfortable > My friend has upgraded to OS X 10.11 and is still using FileMaker Pro > 11, but so far I've only done a brief test on 10.11.
