Tables /can/ have problems. *Very* rarely You are wording it the way that because there is a *very* small chance that some document /might/ look slightly different one should not use LO >> Note also that LibreOffice is the way to go when MS-Office fails to load >> its own document (which happens often enough). Load it in LO, save as >> docx, done. MS Office will be able to load it again. > > it doesn't happen at all. Stop lying. You are quite bad at that. I have repaired more than once MS Office docs exactly that way. Just because *you* have not had that problem does not mean that it does not exist. You are not the world. You are nothing >> I am really puzzled why you are *constantly trying to talk shit about >> open source solutions, especially if those are widely used *and* are >> available on all 3 major platforms windows, OSX and linux > > libreoffice is *not* widely used compared to ms office and most people > have never even heard of it. It *is* widely used, by more than 100 million people. It is the Office suite of choice for Munich, they don't use MS Office anymore on more than 15.000 computers. MS Office is only then used (very rarely) when some dimbulb decided that he needed to make elaborate documents >> Why do you feel threatened by those solutions? > > the question is why are *you* threatened that many people do not want > those solutions, open source or not, because they are substandard when > compared to the real thing. Except they are not substandard. Name 2 features which are used in MS Office and not present in LO MY wife is a teacher, she uses LO. The school and her colleagues use MS Office. Why is it that she has no problems using your "substandard" LO? And why is it that you can have Office docs which display, print and behave *exactly* the same on windows, OSX and linux with LO, but you can't even have MS Office docs which are completely interchangeable between windows and OSX? What is the "substandard" solution in that case? You don't have the foggiest what you are blubbering about
