I subscribed to iTunes Match last summer to see if I could save some room on the phone and can't imagine how many hours I've wasted trying to get it to match some songs. Like you, the major problem is like a 11 song cd only matching 8 of them. Rename them, change the encoding, screw with the time/length, the info for it. Nothing works consistantly. What I found out (and it's not 100% but better than anything else) is, if you import something and it's only "uploaded" and not "matched" (some or all of the songs), just delete it from iTunes and try adding it back tomorrow or the next day. You'll be surprised at how many will get auto-magically fixed the 2nd or 3rd time importing it. Leaving the songs in iTunes doesn't work. It seems not to "go back" and retry those. Use the "Delete Song" instead of "Remove Download" then wait a day or two and re-import the cd or tracks/mp3's. It's less time consuming and less frustrating and mostly works. Like I said, not 100% but did fix many of the cd's I ripped where 2 or 3 only got uploaded but not matched (from the same cd and available in the store). -bruce bje@ripco.com
