I've never seen that behavior > from Excel or Numbers. The spreadsheet is Excel. I went back and tried again. There is something buggy about the CSV file. Excel retains four of five trailing commas at the end of each line for the first half of the data. The second half it deletes them. This time the program that uses CSV files (Chirp for programming radio transceivers) imported the file. There was a format mismatch error message, but data loaded correctly. I tried with Open Office, and 4 of the 5 commas were retained for all lines. It seems that there is no column heading for the field with the fifth comma! Fred
