Not quite by the way, and this is a fact, the older film SLRs were better for being metal and having a bit of weight than the later ones made of plastic and whatever in that they were more inertial and you could shoot at lower hand held speeds without causing blur. Of course, with digitals, many are like feathers, especially the compacts and there is continuing developments to combat this with various anti-shake, stabilization software and hardware. I have found that there is nothing that beats a tripod and that many of these advertised technologies are only good to a point *above* a tripod. Of course, in many situations you can hold a camera and altogether avoid shake. But in many you cannot quite in spite of cursory appearance. -- dorayme
