I got rid of Xcode except for the command line tools.  But oddly the 
update to them just won't install on my machine.  Tried a few reboots, 
app store install, starts to install and then quits to showing update 
again.

For now I'm not concerned because I doubt I'll ever use them again.

My pan is working fine which was all that I actually wanted.
