That was the element that turned me off, and I have not purchased a
Bioware title since.

Judging by the high review ratings DA:O received, my opinion is in the
minority, but I could not think of any better way to destroy the sense
of gaming immersion than to prompt me for a credit card mid-game. That
aspect alone single-handedly turned Dragon Age into one of the worst
games I've ever played.
