The 58th NEW Harpoon scenario of the year! Spratly In 2019 Asia has taken on a new political appearance. During the decade Australia has produced wealth from the establihment of a significant carbon trade (Carbon Reduction Trading Scheme) and has used that wealth to impose significant influence on surrounding countries, Asian countries in particular, and has formed (and controlled) the now powerfull Greater Australasian Economic Convention (GAEC). Only Taiwan has remained outside of GAEC although it is strongly held that there is significant co-operation and that its non- member status is only at the official level. GAEC has slowly restricted much of China's requirements for expansion, particularly in respect of energy, with much of the resources available to GAEC going to the individually small, but collectively large, GAEC member countries. Current tension is high after a month of strong diplomatic actions by both sides and GAEC conducting Naval exercises within the South China Sea (refered to by GAEC as the Viet-Malay Sea).
