<div>Error description: An installation package for the product MicrosoftODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server cannot be found. Try the installationagain using a valid copy of the installation package 'msodbcsql.msi'.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>sql server 2019 installation microsoft odbc driver 17 download error</div><div></div><div>Download File: https://t.co/n1iaqsLtQt </div><div></div><div></div><div>In order to run a third-party WSUS script (against the Windows Internal Database) I downloaded the x64 version of the Microsoft Command Line Utilities 14 for SQL Server, but when I attempt the installation I get the following error message:</div><div></div><div></div><div>When that didn't work, I tried installing the microsoft ODBC linux drivers. They installed and I'm able to connect to my server using the "sqlcmd" command that comes with the MS tools but I can't connect with either isql or add it as a remote server.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I did notice you have unixODBC 2.3.9 as your driver manager. Is that the default odbc driver manager that was present prior to installing the SQL Server driver? If so, you should uninstall any unixODBC driver manager package first (possibly was installed with the OS), and then install the SQL Server driver, tools, etc.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>In case that the wrong version of the Microsoft ODBC drivers for SQL Server is trying to be installed (e.g. x86\msodbcsql.msi on the Windows 64-bit version), the following warning message will appear:</div><div></div><div></div><div>Note: If the ODBC Data Sources Administrator (64-bit) dialog for creating connection with 32-bit data source (e.g.32-bit SQL Server) is used, the following error may appear when a linked server is created:</div><div></div><div></div><div>I have the native ODBC driver and I can connect from command line and python (pyodbc) without any issues, but from JMP I'm always getting a "not found" error regardless if I try to connect from JSL with open database() or from the query builder.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Thanks Bryan,</div><div></div><div>yes that's the reference, as you can see it is biased against unixodbc and not iodbc/ODBCmanager.</div><div></div><div>I've actually had this on hold for a while only using a python connection from JMP to do the query since everything works fine with pyodbc through python.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>I've today for the first time managed to get iODBC to accept another driver and it works fine through JMP in a JSL script (even though the UI for the query builder is acting out and does not allow me to pick any schemas or tables to work against).</div><div></div><div></div><div>That got me hooked on trying to get my ms sql servers up and running in the same way, but i still can't make it happen.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>iodbc just shows these kinds of errors when i click test (even if i make a DSN straight out of the documentation):</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>If i hit the same DSN from python and pyodbc it works without any errors... I am wondering if it can be something with the encoding but iodbc or jmp are not really giving me a lot to troubleshoot on.</div><div></div><div>iODBC is at least not understanding how the driver is working, that's my only conclusion so far.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>I guess i need to try other drivers...</div><div></div><div></div><div>The version and the filename are identical in the 64-bit odbcad32 screen as well as the 32-bit odbcad32 screen from c:\windows\syswow64, so I do not believe it to be a 32 vs 64 bit issue at this time (particularly since the driver was installed by the SQL Server 2016 RC2 install).</div><div></div><div></div><div>It is true that linked servers are dependent on the OLEDB interface but the ODBC driver can be safely used between SQL Server servers. (There's a misconception in the wild that such a configuration is unsupported by Microsoft; that is a myth.)</div><div></div><div></div><div>Starting with version 2309, Configuration Manager requires the installation of Microsoft ODBC driver 18 or later for SQL Server as a prerequisite. This prerequisite is required when you create a new site or update an existing one. We have covered this prerequisite in the SCCM 2309 upgrade guide.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Thanks to Microsoft, the error description contains the link to download the latest version of the Microsoft ODBC driver for SQL Server. Use that link to get the latest version of the Microsoft ODBC driver for SQL Server and install it on the server to get rid of the prerequisite check error.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Use the following download link to get the most recent version of the ODBC driver for SQL Server. On the download page, select Download Microsoft ODBC Driver 18 for SQL Server (x64). The browser now downloads the msodbcsql.msi file to your computer.</div><div></div><div></div><div>the java.sql.SQLException code simply indicates that a query was made through the JDBC-ODBC bridge, which has returned an error. This error is frequently a database or driver error, and must be interpreted in this direction.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Only the part of text in italic must first be taken in account. It must be searched in the ODBC driver or Excel documentation. If its contains a specific error code, like here in bold italic, the error can be immediately identified.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Either the login credentials you are using are incorrector your user account does not have enough rights to access the remotemachine. This error also occurs when the database server is not configuredto accept Integrated Windows Authentication login credentials.</div><div></div><div> df19127ead</div>
