BONE was meant to be a replacement for the network stack in BeOS. It was never released, but beta versions were given to some developers. It is possible the OEM had an agreement with Be to use BONE, or maybe a previous user has found BONE somewhere and installed it. Anyway, BONE does not use the same network preferences panel that was used by the old network stack. Instead, see if you can find Boneyard under the Preferences menu, and try that. The name might not be that discoverable, but note that this is prerelease software. :-) -- Henri Vettenranta HeTo
