To help celebrate the 50th anniversary of UNIX and SDF's 32nd year a previous incarnation of the SDF Public Access UNIX System will run from now until September 30th. Remote access is available via ssh 3b2@sdf.org. You can login as a 'visitor' and if you like to stick around for the duration you can request an account. This machine served 2000 users from 1993 to 1998. Charlie Boykin and Rich Andrews supplied some of its hardware and software - Charlie later pointed out boards that were scavanged from the infamous 'killer' system which are still in the system to this day. While the system will be running 24/7 for the next 5-6 months, we will be participating in the following events: May 3rd-5th, 2019 - Vintage Computer Festival East - Wall, New Jersey Jul 10th-12th, 2019 - USENIX ATC '19 - Renton, Washington Aug 3rd-4th, 2019 - Vintage Computer Festival West - Mountain View CA Sep 14th-15th, 2019 - Vintage Computer Festival MidWest - Chicago, Illinois There is also a travelling AT&T 605 UNIX terminal which is currently in Wall, NJ at VCF East which provides access to the 3B2/500. It is available to SDF members to 'check out' and display at various events. -- ..!sdf.org!martians / SDF Public Access UNIX System / http://sdf.org
