Its main feature is its daisy-chaining port, meaning that you can plug another storage device after it. It aims at being a simple hard disk, and comes with a period-correct set of features (store and access data, let the user use their external floppy drives in conjunction with itself). Its form-factor, however, is definitely not period-correct, providing 128MB of storage in a 46x46mm footprint. It aims at being almost invisible in your setup, be it behind an Apple IIc, IIgs or floppy drive. The device is unobtrusive. The microSD card can be removed and inserted without unplugging the device from the computer (but not when the computer is on!) on both Apple IIc and IIgs. It is short enough that you can still have your Apple IIc sit under the Monitor stand.
