It used to be quite notorious according to some people. The Asimov archive came online around 1995, more than 25 years ago. By summer 1996, some Apple II users started calling it a pirate site: https://macgui.com/usenet/?group=1&id=120267#msg Quite a few discussions about this, also with Dr. Tom Turley and quantum_cat (who I thought someone once said was an alias of Richard "marinetti" Bennett).
