You can use 4 MB of memory expandable to 16 MB using current 1MB SIMMs 
or up to 64 MB using the newer 4 MB SIMMs-

Drawback: With 32 or 64 MB memory booting Domain/OS in Normal mode or 
running the MD selftest in Service mode will really take quite some time 
(while testing the memory).

You may test your SIMMS with the MD selftest (te) or with DEX (ex dex, r 
mem)
