When I rescued it, it showed the following behaviour.
On power-on, the screen will stay white (well, off-white), but no
disk activity, the led was always off.
I opened it, cleaned and replaced the worn disk belt (worn? no belt
at all :P )
Well, now's the same.
I hear the disk motor spinning, but no led lights on and no
activity seems to be performed.
The caps-lock on the keyboard works, I mean the led goes on and off.
May be the disk is gone? I have a spare (untested) one.
I could reopen the 9512 and swap drive, to see what happens...
Should the 9512 act like the 8256 with no disk inserted?
I don't hear any beep...
