Watchdog and closing application child tasks

Hi all,

Does the system watchdog broadcast a specific message to terminate an 
application?

The reason for asking is I have an application written in BASIC that 
spawns a couple of child tasks.  As part of the close down routine it does 
close down any open child tasks.  This appears to be working fine.  If I 
quit the program whilst child task is running, then the open child task 
quits, as expected, same as if I quit my application from Task 
display/Task manager.

However when the task is closed via system watchdog(Alt-Break), the main 
task is closed, but not any open child tasks.  I am therefore wondering if 
there is a specific message I need to listen out for so I can close the 
child tasks too?
