I'm not doing anything, it's not my sheet nor my problem, I'm doing this
for a friend.
If it was my sheet I'd be quite happy for figures in the J column to be a
single decimal or double, I wouldn't care.

As a matter of interest, in the context of that sheet what would a genuine
running total be?

Thanks for that Derek, unfortunately it just produces an error message.

Maybe I'm putting it in the wrong place.
