BT Infinity is largely FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) although they are also trialing FTTP (Fibre to the Premises). In the first case they run fibre from the exchange to the PCP/cabinet, where your existing phone cable runs along its original route and is connected at the cabinet to the fibre link.
