Monitors have got much better at handling various refresh rates, and at reading the monitor ID and capability info. Video subsystems have also got much better at generating different refresh rates. You don't seem to see posts nowadays on the csa groups whining about not being able to drive their monitors. So I think it's pretty mush a thing of the past, as you say. David
