I'm all for getting this values sorted out, it's not as though it's uncommon. However, in the meantime, I've discovered "SWI MimeMap_Translate" and to my amazement, got it working. My program now checks what the user has configured for .m4a, .mp3, .flac, .wav and uses those values, and if no mapping is set it gives an error. No change to code needed for a different mapping. I'm quite pleased with that. Thanks everyone. Cheers, Bob.
