This is pretty less about pgp, isn't it? Though it's about comp.security
in general.

If mails are saved as files (e. g. Maildir) and you've got access to the
FS: Shred files: man shred (outta coreutils-package)

Otherwise, unknown mail-saving method, you aren't root on the
mailserver, or whatever: I don't see a chance to force a forensic secure
deletion. But if your messages were encrypted who cares about this
issue?

Furthermore you don't have control of used transport-channels. Someone
might have saved your e-mail on the transportation and you can't expect
all intermediate stations did use encryption. So an e-mail always leaves
some trails.
