In this workshop we seek to showcase recent progress on the computational development needed to address the new complexities of climate models and their multi-scale behavior to maximize efficiency and accuracy. This workshop brings together computational and domain Earth scientists to focus on Earth system models at the largest scales for deployment on the largest computing and data centers. Topics include, but are not limited to: * multi-scale time integration * advection schemes * regionally- and dynamically-refined meshes * many-core acceleration techniques * examination of multi-scale atmospheric events * coupled interactions between model components (such as atmosphere, ocean, and land), and techniques to make these couplings computationally tractable ========================================================================== Papers ========================================================================== Authors are invited to submit manuscripts reporting original, unpublished research and recent developments in Computational Sciences. All accepted papers will be included in the open-access Procedia Computer Science series and indexed by Scopus, ScienceDirect, Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation (former ISI Proceedings) - an integrated index within Web of Science. The papers will contain linked references, XML versions and citable DOI numbers. The manuscripts of up to 10 pages, written in English and formatted according to the EasyChair templates, should be submitted electronically (make sure to submit to the MSESM 2015 workshop). Templates are available for download in the Easy chair right-hand-side menu in a "New submission" mode. Papers must be based on unpublished original work and must be submitted to ICCS only. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper.
