Perhaps one of the DOS SUBST-clones @ Hobbes (try "HELP SUBST" for the
DOS version)?

I don't know if you can replace D: with U:\QT\DLL because D: already 
exists, or if you can use some virtual K:-drive with your RPM/YUM 
(SUBST K: U:\QT\DLL).
