In general, which VAC version (3/3.6.5/4) is recommended? FWIW: the language level isn't that important, snprintf() is hardly nice-to-have. Typical apps: CLI-based (no makefiles), CLI-based with PM file open dialog (no makefile) ,Rexx DLLs (basic makefiles). Both a better runtime (I wouldn't be able to notice the difference) and better error checking (difference already noticed) are nice-to-haves. There's hardly any investment to be thrown away, apart from a few rare VAC3 VB books and samples, so as such there's no reason to stick to the traditional VAC3. If VAC3 still is okay for basic usage, is it worth the efforts to also install other versions (if so: for which purposes)? --
