I can't find anything called a hardware breakpoint in IPMD.
Do you mean a memory change breakpoint?  I've been playing a bit with
those, without much success...

I reenabled the code... however the problem is gone again and the 
program appears to work now.

I did find and fix some unitialized variables elsewhere in the window
procedure, but they were just static structures, not pointers... I'm
dubious that that could've been the cause.
