It boots faster, loads apps way faster and a 4 second shutdown in Mint must be some sort of record for a modern OS. I used to leave Windows running 24-7 because it was a bore waiting to see if it would ever shut down (sometimes it would and sometimes it wouldn't). With Mint I just click shut down and by the time I reach for the button on the monitor the computer clicks off. Either way ... You are obviously unhappy, unlucky and/or lost with Linux so why don't you just stick with Windows and save yourself the grief? After all a computer is just a tool - so use the tool that works best for you. John
