Most WiFi momes/routers have an inbuilt 'website' which allows tou select what it is you want to configure, both LAN and other stuff like the WiFi with various GUI 'pages' or tabs. That allows you to set up things like the WiFi Server name (SSID) that you see when you run something like your Network Manager to select the WiFi Sserver you want out of the dozen or so in the nearby locality. And also the security password to keep undesirables out. You can restrict who is allowed to log in to the WiFi and lots of other goodies like that. So that if the password becomes open knowledge, the actual machine has to be permitted by the router before it is allowed to log on. Dig up the manual for your particular Modem/Router, and just follow the instructions. It's actually quite simple. Keep a record of your current settings and any changes you make. Six months down the track, you won't be able to rely on your memory of the various settings. Regards, Jack -- I have read so much about the dangers of tobacco, alcohol and gambling, I made up my mind to stop reading.
