Installed fine under QEMU (slowly!). Transferred the disk image back to the KVM based VM and it booted fine and, as expected, ran rather better. Any idea what could be upsetting KVM in the installer stage? I tried various virtual graphics cards and fiddled with a number of other things. Cheers Tim -- Tim Watts
