Like most medicines, it is also a poison. He has taught both parties a lesson. Particularly in 2016 the people rejected the typical GOP hacks that were presented and selected someone hated by the party leadership. By 2024 the never-Trumpers weren't as vocal but it still wasn't business as usual for the GOP. They may need to calibrate further to hold their base. The Democrats have long had the 'who else can they vote for?' philosophy while progressively ignoring their traditional base. They found out they don't have the lock they thought they did. Overall the 'demos' may be coming to the opinion that both parties suck.
