Larger contact patch, less loading per sq in or whatever units you prefer. Think of what an almost flat tire looks like. It's a common practice with dirt bikes. It helps to have a tube type tire. With tubeless you're in danger of breaking the bead seal, then you have 0 psi, bars, kg/cm, or luck.
