The Powerslides were two speeds and bands that needed frequent 
adjustments. Peter Paul and Mary had a comedy routine about it.

The Torqueflite may have been the first three speed and Chrysler used it 
across the board. I had a '60 Plymouth with the 225 slant-6 engine and a 
Torqueflite that I eventually replaced with a manual.

Most manual transmission were three on the tree, with the sportier 
offerings 4 speed floor shift. My Plymouth had a floor shift since 
adapting the Torqueflite push button  cable wasn't in the cards. Floor 
shift kits were cheap.
