Note that my exposure is mostly to Mexican Spanish which is not Castilian Spanish. I have problems with 'r' in both Spanish and German. I used to listen to a Mexican radio station. The announcer was exaggerating but he could get about 5 seconds out of the 'r' in radio. That can be a problem with 'pero' and 'perro'.
