The gym just got new treadmills and I don't know if they have that feature. I just start the Walk activity without the GPS. It reports I walked an hour for 0.1 miles. I've learned to not let it figure out what I'm doing. Mowing the lawn with a push mower gets recorded as riding an outdoor bicycle. Raking leaves looks like swimming. I think all the companies overreach when they try to do something with the raw sensor data. Before Fitbit came up with cardio load I liked the zone minutes metric. That was simple and I'd try to keep my average above 100 per day.
