You're lucky. It became trendy around 20 years ago as a 'superfood'. Maybe 
it's one of those genetic things but I find it bitter even more than 
dandelion greens. It's also tough no matter how long you cook it even if 
you cut out the central vein. Some people make smoothies out of it. Maybe 
if you grind it to a pulp and add bananas, mangoes, lemons, and any other 
fruit laying around you might have something you can gag down.
