I killed the Centronics port on one machine but I had plugged in a homegrown EPROM burner and screwed something up. You could do many things with the parallel port that didn't involve a printer. Some used it for dongles. I may have an external Iomega Zip drive around here that used it. 100 MB of removable storage. What more would you ever need?
