They use a low melting point alloy so its more or less back to a soldered connection. https://powerwerx.com/heat-shrink-solder-sleeve-crimpless-connectors For large industrial transformers or motors I used crimped ring tongue terminals. Those were fastened together with a screw and nut, wrapped with rubber tape, and then with vinyl electrical tape for abrasion resistance. Overkill but you really didn't want sparks from a 460 VAC junction box.
