F was Fail!! I don't think we had a E. Go directly to F. However I wasn't talking about grades. Even at the tail end of the Baby Boom classes were large. In the school where I taught, there were 4 separate groups and they were sorted by potential. The D kids would probably be high school dropouts. C would take shop or business courses and graduate. A were college bound. B was a crap shoot, maybe community college.
