You obviously know more Scots than Irish. True, it's politer than some 
Irish terminology for Brits.

Well, you'd better be carrying a knife if you insist on wearing a skirt in 
public. 

The Fáilte Irish Festival is 9/5 and the Celtic Dragon Pipe Band will show 
up. The Presbyterian pipe puffers do their best but most Irish music 
requires more than one octave. Even with careful selection of material 
they wind up trying to fake the notes they can't hit.

Interesting the word comes across as in Dubh Linn (Black Pool) and Roisin 
Dubh. (Dark Rose).
