For example, the Linux implementation of turbo pascal in Lazarus does not have the two functions to access the speaker. Sorry, I forgot the names of the functions. Even having a script beep or boop at you is not easy. You can echo a ctrl-G, but that's about it. Doesn't always work, either. Not in a script running in cron, for instance. -- Cheers, Carlos E.R.
