I spent several winters in southern Arizona about 50 miles south of the Gila Bend AFB and the Cabeza Prieta Game Refuge / Barry Goldwater Bombing Range. They tended to play their reindeer games near the border. The refuge was a nice place to hike but you had to call up to see if they were planning to shoot the place up that day. I guess the wildlife got used to it.
