He was executed by firing squad in Utah in 1915. The IWW (Wobblies) had a hard time in the US. A lot of the opposition was led by the trade unions. The Wobblies wanted one, bug, international union; the trades wanted a place at the trough for their members. A few had 'international' in their names but that was as far as it went. In the long run, they screwed themselves. The non-organized workers didn't care that the electricians secured a plum deal for themselves. While the business unions and management did well together for a while, management figured out the non-union workers in the 'right to work' states were cheaper and those in Mexico, Madagascar, or China were cheaper still.
