In those days you didn't need a BS with 'engineer' written on it. My uncle followed in his footsteps and filled the position when his father retired. My brother was ready to follow into the family dynasty until his wife explained what his future was going to be starting with a degree in aeronautical engineering. He retired as a VP of Thiokol so I guess it worked. It wasn't that bad a game plan -- until the mills started shutting down.I was back that way in 2004. There were a lot of huge parking lots with trees growing up through the pavement.
